Christian Association Of Nigeria, Anambra State Chapter has honoured the General Overseer and Founder, Tree Of Life Gospel Ministry, Nanka, Most Reverend Jerry Dada-Obi with an award of Ecumenism Excellent Leadership Award.
Also presented to him were an award from National Peace Award Commission, Abuja, as Messenger Of Peace delivered to him by the State Chairman of CAN, Venerable Joseph Nweke.
Archbishop Dada-Obi, a member of the Organization Of African Indigenous Churches block of CAN, is known as a spiritual father who does not segregate but show peace and oneness to all bearing in mind that they are one in Christ and in that in heaven there is no denomination.
The award ceremony was attended by church leaders, members of his church and other affluent individuals in Nanka who testified to the roles played by Most Reverend Dada-Obi in the society which according to them speaks volumes and gears people towards engendering unity, togetherness and evangelism.
While presenting the awards to the recipient, State Chairman of Christian Association Of Nigeria, Venerable Nweke disclosed that Most Reverend Dada-Obi has played vital roles evangelizing the gospel of Jesus Christ and fostering unity in the body of Christ.
Venerable Nweke called on other church leaders to emulate Archbishop Dada-Obi’s life of benevolence
Most Reverend Dada-Obi who felt elated for the honour bestowed on him, maintained that his call into the ministry was divine as he upholds the teachings of Christ on every issue especially in promoting peace, humility, and worship of Christ.
Most Reverend Dada-Obi charged other church leaders to go back to the drawing board and seek for God’s face, saying that all challenges facing todays society can be addressed if people are close to God through prayers.
For the Secretary General, Nanka Community, Mr Pius Umejiofor testified that their brother, Most Reverend Dada-Obi is indeed a spiritual father to all as he has continued to render help, proffer solutions and peace for the progress, peace and prosperity for Ndi Nanka and beyond appreciating, CAN for finding out the excellent qualities in him for the honour.
Also speaking, another stakeholder in Nanka, Chief Ebo Nwankwo said God created Most Reverend Dada-Obi for a purpose which he is fulfilling, describing him as a peace maker and great philanthropist.
The Mother General of the church and wife of the General Overseer, Mrs Abuoma Dada-Obi was also recognized and honoured by CAN for her excellent roles in building the church and gave her the award of Kingdom Builders Award
Carols heralding the christmas were rendered at the ceremony while presentations and other side attractions led to the climaxed of the programme.
