The Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Anambra State Health Insurance Agency (ASHIA), Dr. Simeon Beluonwu Onyemaechi, has stated that Anambra State was among the first states that established state Health Insurance Agency in Nigeria.
The ASHIA boss disclosed this today when he featured in a phone in radio program on Anambra Broadcasting Service 88.5fm (ABS).
Dr. Onyemaechi said that the state government didn’t just established the agency for mere sake but that they also backed it up with a law through the state House of Assembly which shows how much the state prioritises the health of her citizens.
‘ ASHIA has been growing and meeting up with the expectations since it’s establishment; we don’t owe and have never owed the accredited hospitals that partners with us. We always pay them their fee for service charge and capitation before the second week of every month’, Dr. Onyemaechi said.
