The Senator representing Anambra Central Senatorial District, Senator Uche Ekwunife (Iyom) on Monday, 19 September 2022 paid a condolence visit to Senator Dr Ifeanyi Ubah at his residence, over the murder of his 2 aides and security personnel during the attempted assassination attack on the Senator at Nkwo Enugwu-Ukwu.
Iyom, who greatly condemned the attack that took place in her senatorial district, lamented that the sad incident took many lives, including that of a very important personality from the district who was also caught in the cross fire
During the visit, Senator Ekwunife expressed her condolence and that of the good people of Anambra Central Senatorial District to Senator Ubah over the loss of his aides and security personnel and reassured him of her continuous friendly support and solidarity adding that whatever affects him, equally affects her.
“We will stand by Ifeanyi, Ifeanyi is a good guy, a family friend. I wonder who in his right senses will want to hurt a man like him “, the Senator added.
Senator Ekwunife used the opportunity to beckon on all the stakeholders , president generals, traditional rulers and citizens of the state irrespective of their social, political, and religious affiliations to join hands together with the State Governor and address the insecurity which has eaten deep into the state.
“As confirmed by the state government, the majority of those behind this insecurity in the state are from Igboland. Why do we want to destroy ourselves?
There is no justification for this.
We need the sweet peaceful Anambra state which had in the past created an enabling environment for investors and been a beehive of activities in the past.
Anambrarians are known as very industrious, committed, hardworking and happy people but now, people can’t even go home and businesses are going down while our social life is being collapsed”, the Senator lamented
She further encouraged all to imbibe the spirit of Anambra , close ranks with and complement the laudable efforts of Governor Soludo in bringing about a lasting solution to this ugly menace
Senator Ubah expressed his gratitude to her for making out time to visit.
