Ayamelum Leaders Of Thought Sue For Sustainable Peace Over Anaku And Omor Crisis

The Ayamelum Leaders of Thought have condemned the communal crisis between Anaku and Omor communities in Ayamelum Local Government Area,that occurred last Sunday which claimed property,lives of both communities, including police officers.

In a communique issued by Ayamelum Leaders of Thought through their Chairman, Chief Tony Chinedu, at the Anambra State House of Assembly, they made it clear that they will deal decisively with any party found guilty after due investigations.

The Ayamelum Leaders of Thought who sued for sustainable peace in all the communities in the Local government area,announced that a committee entrusted with land dispute resolution will be followed up to speed their roles in bringing about permanent solution to the steady bad events in Ayamelum Local Government Area.

They thanked the security agencies and the service chiefs that came to the aid of the communities during the crisis period.

Earlier,the Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly, Right Honourable Uche Okafor accompanied by the leaders,paid a courtesy visit to the Commissioner of Police,Anambra State Command,Mr. Christopher Owolabi at Anambra State Command Headquarters,Amawbia where he said that the crisis has been brought under control.
