Azubogu Pledges Comprehensive Infrastructure Development As Anchor To Drive Anambra State Growth

Leading Governorship aspirant under the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Engr Chris Azubogu, has pledged to aggressively pursue infrastructure development as anchor to fast track the growth of Anambra State.

Engr Chris Azubogu, who spoke at the Silver Jubilee Anniversary Symposium of the Anglican Diocese of Nnewi, held at St. Andrew’s DCC, Nnewi on Thursday said that “what I am pursuing is for us to create Super Infrastructure upon which Anambra State will anchor her development and economic growth. With the Industrial Parks which we are developing, we are sure of jobs for our youths. For example, the proposed Industrial Park which I facilitated and located at Akwaihedi-Unubi-Uga is projected to create 25,000 jobs and over 10,000 SMEs.”

Azubogu also assured that he will enhance the security of the Anambra State if elected as Governor come the November 6 election.

Stating that security of lives and properties is the basis for government in the first place, he said that Anambra State under his watch will be well secured for all.

“We are going to pursue an education policy that will turn our young ones as human assets needed for growth. The product of our education must solve our problems and we will achieve this through deliberate State education reform” he said.

Azubogu who was a consultant to Anambra State Government between 2007 to 2011 used innovative means to clean the State payroll system, wedded off ghost workers and ghost schools from the State government payroll system, and put in place an automated payment system which has saved billions of Naira for the State.

The man fondly called ‘Mr. Project’ recalled how his journey from the private sector took him to consult for the various governments on institutional reform and later landed him into an elective position as a member of House of Representatives since 2011, stating that he is in politics to use the instrumentality of government to solve problems facing the people.

The symposium, which has ‘Making The Difference In Governance’ as its theme, has His Lordship, Revd. Ndubisi Obi as the host, Prof E.B.C. Ufodike as the Chairman, The Rt. Revd. Prof. Israel Kelue Okoye as Keynote Speaker. Many political leaders across the political parties in Anambra State also participated.
