The Federal government of Nigeria has promised to cater for the treatment of Blessing Oborududu’s knee.
The Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Mr. Sunday Dare, assured that the kneel will be repaired in any country of her choice.
Unknown to millions who watched Blessing Oborududu wrestle her way to win Silver in the sixty eight kilogrammes free style women wrestling event at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, she haf actually defied a nagging knee injury to become the first Nigerian to win medal in wrestling.
According to the Chairman of the Caretaker Committee of the Nigerian Wrestling Federation, Dr. Daniel Igali who expressed shock that she was able to take a full double attack, said she did her best as they had been treating the tender knee all through the tournament.
With this victory, Oborududu, has entered the record books as the first Nigerian to win a wrestling medal at the Olympics.
She claimed the coveted silver following a four one defeat to her long term American foe Tamyra Mensah Stock.
