Chants And Cheers Permeate Aguata PDP Headquarters As Ekwunife Visits Party Delegates

In a scintillating and warm reception, the Aguata delegates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Thursday, March 4, 2021 received the leading governorship aspirant for the November 6 election, Senator Uche Ekwunife as she visited the party secretariat in the local government to seek the support of delegates ahead of the June 26 party primary.

Ekwunife who arrived the secretariat shortly after her meeting with Orumba North delegates, noted that each time she visits Aguata, her LGA of birth, it always feels like home coming. She reiterated how crucial it is for PDP to present a candidate with the requisite experience and track record to emerge victorious in the upcoming governorship polls.

The Igboukwu-born Senator noted that her connection with Aguata transcends being just the home of her birth. According to her, her contributions to the growth of the LGA through the notable ecological and developmental projects she attracted to some communities in the region testify that she has been part and parcel of the zone not just from birth but in action.

Ekwunife urged Aguata delegates to be objective as they seek to produce a PDP governor that will accomodate the interest of the OAU. She stated that based on the records available, she fits into that category better than other contenders.

On his part, the chairman of the local government, Chief Sunny Umenne, on behalf of the LGA and ward excos appreciated Senator Ekwunife for the visit. He noted that he is not in doubt that Aguata will benefit if Ekwunife emerges the party candidate. He further prayed God to strengthen her and grant her the grace to succeed in her ambition.

Ekwunife was accompanied by an entourage which included the Senator representing Oyo South, Sen Kola Balogun, former federal house of reps member, Hon Micah Umoh, former NECO Registrar, Prof Promise Okpala, former commissioner for women affairs Anambra State, Lady Henrietta Agbata, fomer member of the State Assembly, Hon Dimobi Joseph, former Accountant General of Anambra State, Mrs Helen Nwaeri, former commissioner for commerce and industry, Hon Ken Arinze, former commissioner for women affairs, Hon Bridget Obi, Dr Obi Anyaayo, Chief Ejike Nwosu (Uta Aguata), Ichie Edward Ezeabasili (Ogbatuluenyi Amesi), Legislative Assistant to the Senator, Mrs Ify Chinwuko amongst others.
