Chelsea considers bringing back Carlo Ancelotti as manager

Former Chelsea manager and current Real Madrid boss, Carlo Ancelotti, is the latest name to be linked with a return to the London club as their search for a permanent manager continues. Other names on the table include Julian Nagelsmann, Luis Enrique, Mauricio Pochettino, Antonio Conte and Jose Mourinho.

Reports from Goal indicate that Chelsea is open to the idea of bringing Ancelotti back to the English Premier League, should he leave Real Madrid in the summer. Ancelotti is also being linked to the Brazil national team job.

Ancelotti’s two-year spell at Chelsea from 2009-2011 saw him win three titles: the Barclays Premier League, Community Shield, and the FA Cup. The board at Stamford Bridge is optimistic about securing the services of the 63-year-old if current interim manager Frank Lampard is not retained.

Barcelona’s 12-point lead in the domestic league has raised doubts over Ancelotti’s future at Real Madrid. If he fails to defend the Champions League crown, he could potentially be available for a return to Chelsea.
