Chidi Odogo, accused by the Nnewi Widow of encroaching forcibly on her late husband’s assets, finally speaks

After being accused of encroaching violently on Nnewi Widow’s late husband’s property in Nnewichi, Chidi Odogo has at last speaks to Daily News Reporters about what happened.

According to Mr. Chidi, a malicious and false story was circulated ostensibly on behalf of Mrs. Rose Chikwendu, alias Rose Odogo, and her son. The false story stated that Mr. Humphrey Ngonadi had approached the belligerent woman with an offer to purchase her land at a cost of 20 million naira and that when she refused, Mr. Ngonadi started persecuting her.

The true story is that Mr. Emeka Chukwueloka of Nnewichi has now sold the land to Mr. Emeka Chukwueloka of Nnewichi,” he added. Chidi Odogo challenged the forged will of the late Chief Chukwuto Okafo Odogo at the High Court of Anambra State.

However, the Court declared that Samuel Chikwendu, alias Samuel Odogo, was not the son of the late Chief Chukwuto Okafo Odogo and declared it null and void. Four days after the judgement was delivered, Rose, the widow of Samuel, colluded with the Obi Nnewichi and convinced a money bag to purchase the land. The stranger demolished an eight-bedroom bungalow renovated by Chidi Odogo after his father’s death, he said.

Emeka Chukwueloka stationed thugs at the site and nearly killed Chidi and Bridget Odogo when they tried to stop them from working on the land. Chidi Odogo has been intimidated, maltreated, deprived, and humiliated by Obi Nnewichi and Emeka Chukwueloka.

In conclusion, Obi Nnewichi and Emeka Chukwueloka have sponsored a false publication and are hellbent on disinheriting him and acquiring his father’s Obi compound. Chidi appeals to Obi Nnewichi and Emeka Chukwueloka to leave their family property alone and remove the illegal construction on his father’s Obi compound. Mr. Emeka Chukwueloka purchased the Obi compound of Chidi Jasper Odogo from imposters, Rose Chikwendu, alias Rose Odogo, and her son. Mr. Humphrey Ngonadi (Ngobros) is not involved in the law suits and all the controversies surrounding the estate of the late Chief Chukwuto Okafo Odogo. Obi George Onyekaba and Mr. Emeka Chukwueloka are the persons who have not hidden their avarice in disinheriting Chidi Jasper Odogo.

A REJOINDER AND THE TRUE STORY

By Chidi Odogo

Last week, via junk journalism, a malicious and false story was circulated ostensibly on behalf of one Mrs. Rose Chikwendu, alias Rose Odogo, and his son.

At first, I considered the story totally unworthy of a dignified response. However, considering that obvious falsehoods have a way of gaining credence if not refuted, I have decided to tell the public the true story. It is important to note that the so-called NnewiNorth Online that published the falsehood never cared to get my own side of the story before rushing to publish the falsehood.

The nondescript bloggers (NnewiNorth online) wrote that I, Chidi Jasper Odogo, and Mr. Humphrey Ngonadi (Ngobros) have subjected Mrs. Rose Chikwendu, who now answers Mrs. Rose Odogo, to intimidation and maltreatment. And that both of us are encroaching on “her husband’s” property. This claim is false even in its face. The false story went on to state that Mr. Humphrey Ngonadi had approached the belligerent woman with an offer to purchase her land at a cost of 20 million naira and that when she refused, Mr. Ngonadi started persecuting her. The story concluded that the said land has now been sold by the lie-telling widow and her son to one Mr. Emeka Chukwueloka of Nnewichi.

This claim is totally false and utterly evil. Like I said earlier, this falsehood does not deserve my response at all, but for the sake of the unsuspecting public, the respected personalities whose names were mentioned in the falsehood, and my friends and relatives who have continued to inundate me with calls and inquiries about what is happening, I decided here to state the true fact.

THE TRUE STORY

  1. Mrs. Rose Chikwendu, alias Rose Odogo, is the wife of the late Samuel Chikwendu, alias Samuel Odogo. Upon the death of late Chief Chukwuto Okafo Odogo, his only surviving wife, Bridget, colluded with a stranger (late Samuel Chikwendu), and they forged a will, purporting it to be the Last Will and Testament of late Chief Chukwuto Okafo Odogo. In that forged will, the late Samuel Chikwendu, alias Samuel Odogo (husband of Rose), was referred to as the first son of the late Chief Chukwuto Okafo. During the lifetime of late Chief Chukwuto Okafo Odogo, late Samuel Chikwendu alias Samuel Odogo never lived even for a day in the compound of late Chief Chukwuto Okafo Odogo and was never recognised as a son, not to mention being the first son. He was indeed not the son of the late Chief Chukwuto Okafo Odogo. He was only procured by Mrs. Bridget Odogo, my father’s surviving wife, who hates me with a passion, and he started occupying part of late Chief Chukwuto Okafo Odogo’s compound after the death and burial of the said Chief on the strength of a forged will.
  2. Of course, I, Chidi Odogo, challenged the forged will at the High Court of Anambra State. Mrs. Bridget Odogo, Samuel Chikwendu, alias Samuel Odogo, and others were parties. The court gave judgement in my favour. The Court declared that Samuel Chikwendu, alias Samuel Odogo, the late husband of Rose Chikwendu, alias Rose Odogo, was not the son of the late Chief Chukwuto Okafo Odogo. The court also declared the forged will null and void. Samuel Chikwendu, alias Samuel Odogo, died before the judgement was delivered.
  3. Four days after the judgement was delivered, Rose, the widow of Samuel, knowing that their game was up, colluded with the Obi Nnewichi and convinced a money bag to purchase the land while they made plans to vacate it on the strength of the judgement. The stranger, who has now been revealed to be Mr. Emeka Chukwueloka, entered the compound of the late Chief Chukwuto Okafo Odogo and demolished an eight-bedroom bungalow renovated and modernised by me after my father’s death. Emeka Chukwueloka stationed thugs at the site, and the thugs nearly killed me and heavily battered Bridget Odogo when we tried to stop them from working on the land.
  4. I, Chidi Odogo, rushed to court again, and judgement was delivered in my favour, and an injunction was issued restraining Rose Chikwendu, alias Rose Odogo, and her agents and privies from trespassing or further trespassing on the land. It is pertinent that Rose and her cohorts were fully represented by their lawyers in the suits where judgement has been delivered. Judgement orders are attached.
“Let me state that if there is anybody who has been intimidated, maltreated, deprived, and humiliated, it is me, Chidi Jasper Odogo, the first son of late Chief Chukwuto Okafo Odogo.”

Obi Nnewichi and Emeka Chukwueloka

It is pertinent to let the general public know that the duo of Obi Nnewichi and the now revealed Emeka Chukwueloka are the persons who not only sponsored the false publication under reference but are also hellbent on disinheriting me and acquiring my father’s Obi compound by sheer force and intimidation. Obi Nnewichi was the first person to recognise me as the first son of my late father, and the person who stepped into my father’s shoes was the Obi of my kindred. He invited me to meetings in that regard in writing several times. I have attached such a letter of invitation herewith. I appeal to Obi Nnewichi and Mr. Emeka Chukwueloka to please leave my family’s property alone. I appeal to Emeka Chukwueloka to obey court orders and remove the illegal construction on my father’s Obi compound. If it is true that Mr. Emeka Chukwueloka purchased my father’s Obi compound from imposters (that is, Rose Chikwendu alias Rose Odogo and her son), he (Mr. Emeka Chukwueloka) should get his money back before it is spent. The land does not belong to Rose and her son. The land is the Obi Compound of the late Chief Chukwuto Okafo Odogo, who died intestate. The land is therefore the subject of the customary inheritance of the first son of late Chief Chukwuto Okafo Odogo, and that is me, Chidi Jasper Odogo.

MR. HUMPHREY NGONADI

It will be unfair if I conclude this rejoinder without informing the general public that Mr. Humphrey Ngonadi (Ngobros) is not involved in the law suits and all the controversies surrounding the estate of late Chief Chukwuto Okafo Odogo. He is not a party to any of the suits. It is not true that Mr. Ngonadi approached Rose Chikwendu, alias Rose Odogo, with N20 million naira to buy my father’s compound. Mr. Ngonadi does not know and has never met Rose Chikwendu, alias Rose Odogo. I know for a fact too that Mr. Ngonadi has never had any discussion or meeting of any sort with Rose Chikwendu, alias Rose Odogo. The sponsors of this malicious publication against Ngonadi are well known. They are Obi Nnewichi, His Royal Highness, Obi George Onyekaba, and Mr. Emeka Chukwueloka. These two men are the ones who have not hidden their avarice in disinheriting me. It has come to my knowledge too that Obi George Onyekaba granted a press interview in which he claimed that the late Samuel Chikwendu, alias Samuel Odogo, was the first son of my father. He even condescended as low as going to testify in court for Rose and her son, but they lost. If Samuel Chikwendu, alias Samuel Odogo, was the first son of my late father, why did Obi George Onyekaba invite me to his palace several times in my capacity as the first son of my father and, by extension, the Obi of my kindred under him? Falsehood should have a limit. The matters surrounding my father’s estate have been adjudicated to finality by the court, and Obi Onyekaba’s opinion anchored on falsehood cannot change anything. Let Obi George Onyekaba and Emeka Chukwueloka leave Ngobros out of this.

Again, Rose Chikwendu, alias Rose Odogo, said she refused to sell the land to Ngonadi and then turned around to sell it to Emeka Chukwueloka! She failed to mention why she preferred to sell to Emeka Chukwueloka instead of Ngonadi, who is a boundary neighbour.

The truth is that Rose would have sold to Ngonadi if he (Ngonadi) had approached her at all for the land. Let Rose show evidence of any act of intimidation or maltreatment meted out to her and her son by Ngonadi. Let Rose show evidence of any act of maltreatment or intimidation meted out to her and her son by me. All that I did was run to the last hope of the common man, which is the court. And I will continue to run to the court for as long as Rose and her cohorts trespass on my father’s property.

Conclusion and Appeal

I conclude by appealing to Obi Nnewichi, HRH Obi George Onyekaba (Obidiugwu), to leave my family alone. I appeal to Mr. Emeka Chukwueloka (whoever you are) to leave my father’s compound. Remove any structure forcefully erected on my land. The land you purportedly purchased does not belong to the person who purportedly sold it to you. I am the owner of the land, and the courts have confirmed my ownership. Mr. Emeka Chukwueloka and Obi Nnewichi are not above the law. Your continued disregard and disrespect for the orders of the court is the worst form of intimidation and maltreatment of my person. I call on the good people of Nnewi Community, including all the respected personalities mentioned in the false publication under reference, to please prevail on Emeka Chukwueloka and Obi Nnewichi to leave my father’s estate alone.

The general public is urged to disregard the falsehood peddled by Mrs. Rose Chikwendu, alias Rose Odogo, against myself and Mr. Humphrey Ngonadi.

Further more, Obi George Onyekaba, Obi Nnewichi, has never been on good terms with my late father, Chief Chukwuto Odogo, which emanates from his late father, Chief Joseph Onyekaba’s unhealthy relationship with my late father. Through out the life of the late chief Chukwuto Odogo, I have never seen George Onyekaba in our house. It was only at the funeral of my father that I personally went to his house and invited him. He can testify that the so-called late Samuel Emeka Odogo was not at that funeral, where I was the chief mourner.

I was surprised that he turned away like this because he was induced by Mr. Emeka Chukwueloka (BB).
