Cosmilla Hotel Releases Statement Regarding Tragic Incident Involving Chinyere Awuda

In response to recent publications by some bloggers regarding the tragic incident at Cosmilla Suits and Hotels in Anambra State, the management has issued a statement clarifying the events that transpired.

The hotel management vehemently denies the misinformation circulating online, stating that it is an orchestrated attempt to tarnish their reputation. They express their heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and well-wishers of late Miss Chinyere Awuda and sympathize with them during this difficult time.

The incident occurred on Monday, July 17, 2023, when a compound cleaner discovered a body floating in an abandoned pool. The hotel management immediately alerted the authorities, and upon investigation, it was revealed that an altercation had taken place between two groups of individuals, one of whom was identified as ‘Bullion Van.’

The altercation reportedly stemmed from an incident that occurred the previous night during the launch of Bullion Van’s fashion brand at the DFAME Club, which is not on the same compound as the hotel. Bullion Van accused late Chinyere of taking money from him inside the club, leading to a confrontation that continued into the early hours of Monday.

According to eyewitness accounts and CCTV footage, Bullion Van and his friends were seen chasing Chinyere from the club to the hotel extension. The hotel’s cameras captured Chinyere hiding behind a car in the parking lot and later running into the hotel compound.

The hotel management denies any involvement in the tragic event, asserting that Chinyere was not beaten to death or dragged to the pool. They are fully cooperating with the Anambra State Police Command, which has taken over the investigation and made some arrests related to the incident.

Cosmilla Hotels emphasizes their commitment to customer welfare and upholding safety measures to ensure guest satisfaction. They condemn the unprofessional reporting by certain bloggers and journalists who published the story without verifying the facts from their side.

An autopsy is being conducted, and the results will be made public. Those found responsible for Chinyere’s death will face the full weight of the law.

The hotel extends its deepest sympathy to the Awuda family, praying for divine comfort during this dark time. May Chinyere’s soul rest in perfect peace. The investigation is ongoing, and more updates will be provided as the case unfolds.
