CP Aderemi Adeoye Assumes Duty as the 33rd Commissioner of Police Anambra State Command

Anambra State, Nigeria – CP Aderemi Adeoye has officially taken on the role of the 33rd Commissioner of Police in the Anambra State Command. Born on August 19, 1966, in Abeokuta, Ogun State, CP Adeoye hails from Modakeke in Ife-East LGA, Osun State. He brings a wealth of experience and qualifications to his new position.

Having enlisted in the Nigeria Police Force on May 1, 1989, CP Adeoye has served in various capacities throughout his career. His diverse roles include Patrol & Guard Officer, Divisional Crime Officer, and Detective in the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) Abeokuta and Awka. He also served as the pioneer Officer Commander of Anambra State Troopers and as a Sector Commander in the Joint Task Force against Boko Haram in Borno State.

CP Adeoye’s achievements extend to Divisional Police Officer positions in Olu Obasanjo and Special Area Divisions in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. As Deputy Commissioner of Police, he fulfilled roles in Finance & Administration, Force Criminal Investigation Department, Alagbon, Lagos, and as the DC Police Mobile Force Coordinator for the South-East in Operations to Restore Peace. From 2021 to 2022, he served as the DC Operations in Anambra State Police Command. He also held the position of Commissioner of Police in charge of Anti-Human Trafficking at Force CID, Alagbon, Lagos.

Throughout his career, CP Adeoye has undergone extensive professional and staff training. Notable courses include the Advanced Detective Course in Police Staff College Jos, Squadron Command Course in Eden Hills, Nassarawa State, International Defence Management Course at Naval Post Graduate School in California, and Crime Prevention in the Digital Age at Galilee Institute of Management in Israel.

CP Adeoye’s international experience includes serving as the Special Assistant to the United Nations Commissioner and Crime Analyst for the United Nations Mission in Liberia. He also spent five years at the African Union Commission in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, where he rose to the position of Police Coordinator. His outstanding service has earned him several commendations, including the Inspector General Police Commendation for Courage, Joint Task Force Commander’s Commendation for Leadership, and awards from the Rotary Club and Lion’s Club for vocational service.

A fellow of the Institute of Corporate Administration and a member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP), CP Adeoye enjoys playing table tennis, reading, traveling, and watching movies in his leisure time. He is married and blessed with four children.
