Cross River State Gov Kicks Off Calabar Carnival 2022

The Governor of Cross River State, Ben Ayade, on Sunday, kicked off the first dry run for the 2022 Calabar Carnival.

Speaking on the theme of the carnival, ‘Agro-Industralisation’, Ayade revealed that it was carefully chosen to send a message to global communities that Africans can depend on themselves for food while kicking against the high dependence on western nations for food by Africans. The event marked the return of the carnival since 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
