~ Swears in new SAs, Coordinators
The Governor of Ebonyi State, Engr. David Umahi has received the new Commissioner of Police, CP Aliyu Garba at the Exco Chambers of the new Government House, Ochoudo Centenary City, Abakaliki.
The new Commissioner of Police CP Aliyu Garba hails from Niger State.
Speaking, the new CP assured Governor Umahi he was going to bring his wealth of experience in previous positions to bear to tackle some security challenges including incessant cult clashes and activities of herders in the State.
“I am here to serve the people to improve the security of lives and property. These I am going to pursue through building of confidence of the Officers, show of force with sister security agencies, night patrols under strict supervision among others”
The Governor while welcoming the new CP to the State charged him to ensure constant patrol across the City especially at night to ensure adequate security of the State.
He pledged to give the new CP the needed support to enable him succeed in the task ahead of him.
“I want you, restore the confidence of the people in the police, we have to wage war against criminals”
The Governor later swore in Mr Sunday Agbo and Mrs Eucheria Ogwale as Coordinators of Effium and Effium South Development Centres in Ohaukwu Local Government Area.
He also swore in Mrs Amuche Otunta and Mrs. Ngozi Ezugo as Special Assistants to the Governor.
While congratulating the Special Assistants and the DC Coordinators, the Governor charged them to desist from betrayal and backstabbing to be successful.
“If you don’t want betrayal, you have to stop it, my confidence is that if God be with you, no one can be against you”
