The Senator representing Anambra Central Senatorial District, Uche Ekwunife (Iyom) today, Friday, February 5, 2021 joined the PDP Vice Presidential candidate in the last elections, HE Peter Obi and other party members to Commiserate with the family of Dr. Obiora Okonkwo as late Ezinne Roseline Okonkwo was laid to rest.
The late Mrs. Okonkwo who died at the age of 80 was until her death the mother of Dr. Obiora Okonkwo. Dr. Okonkwo is a PDP aspirant in the coming governorship election.
The funeral mass which held at Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church, Ogidi had in attendance many dignitaries from all areas of society.
While Commiserating with the family, Ekwunife described the deceased as a woman who lived a life of love, cheerfulness and courage. She called on the family to be console by the book of Revelation 21: 4 “He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”
The Chairman Senate Committee on Science and Technology also extended her Commiseration to Dr. Obiora Okonkwo and the entire Ogidi community. Ekwunife prayed for the peaceful repose of the soul of late Ezinne Okonkwo.
Dignitaries present were Senator Andy Ubah, Member representing Nnewi North/South and Ekwusigo Federal Constituency, Hon Chris Azubogu, Member representing Idemili North and South Federal Constituency, Hon Obinna Chidoka, Nigerian Ambassador to Burundi, Amb Elijah Onyeagba, Chief Damian Okeke Ogene, Mr. Valentine Ozigbo, Hon Ofor Chukwuegbo, Mr Bob-mmanuel Udokwu and many others.
