The Senator representing Anambra Central Senatorial District, Uche Ekwunife PhD, Thursday, August 12, 2021, joined friends and well-wishers of late Engr Ajegbo to mourn the death of their matriarch, Mrs. Ugodie Hope Ajegbo.
Late Mrs Ajegbo was until her death an aunt to Senator Mike Ajegbo. Senator Ajegbo popularly known as Ede Obosi represented Anambra Central Senatorial District between 1999-2003.
The funeral ceremony which was held at the deceased’s compound was attended by dignitaries amongst which were top government officials, former Commissioners, Reps and Senators.
While commiserating with the family, Ekwunife noted that it’s a celebration of life, adding that the late Mrs. Ajegbo is a woman of virtues and strong character. The Senator said that accomplishments of the children is a testimony that the deceased left good legacies behind on earth.
Appreciating, Senator Ajegbo who spoke on behalf of the family thanked Ekwunife for coming to mourn with them despite the short invite notice. He prayed for the repose of the soul of his aunt.
Ekwunife, on behalf of her family and the good people of Anambra Central Senatorial District extended condolences to the entire family of the deceased.
Late Mrs. Ajegbo died at the age of 87.
On the Senator’s entourage were former Managing Director of Anambra state Physical Planning Board Chief Victor Okpoko, former Chairman ASUBEB, Dr. Rose Nwankwo, former Accountant General of Anambra state, Mrs. Helen Nwaeri, Legislative Aide to the Senator, Mrs. Ify Chinwuko, Comrade ABC Ubani, Lolo Ifeyinwa Abunyie amongst others.
