Ekwunife eulogizes Nigeria’s First Female Governor, Dame Virgy Etiaba At 78

The Senator representing Anambra Central Senatorial District, Senator Uche Ekwunife (Iyom) has eulogized Nigeria’s first female Governor, Dame Virgy Etiaba on the occasion of her 78th birth anniversary.

Extolling Etiaba, a former Governor of Anambra State, Senator Ekwunife describes her as a jinx breaker and forebearer for women in politics.

Ekwunife states that having been the first female Nigerian to serve as the Governor of a State, Dame Etiaba has shown that women can occupy any political position in Nigeria.

Ekwunife notes that the retired Civil Servant and Politician, beyond her political achievements had a successful family life, and was able to successfully combine her motherly duties with the demands of public office, raising children who are today making great contributions to the society.

The Senator describes the Septuagenarian as a trailblazer and a model for women in politics. She prays God to grant her many more years in good health as she celebrates another year of being a continuous inspiration to many hardworking and courageous Nigerian women who are committed to making meaningful contributions towards the development of the society. She further wishes the celebrant a happy birthday celebration, and many more fruitful and impactful years ahead.
