The leading aspirant for the November 6 governorship election, Uche Ekwunife, has felicitated with the Director, National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Person (NAPTIP), Dame Ebele Ulasi (PhD) and member representing Awka North and South Federal Constituency, Hon Engr Chinedu Onwuaso on their Investiture into the Knighthood of St. Paul and Ladies Of Bethany, Province of the Niger, Anglican Diocese of Awka.
The 8th investiture into the Orders of the Knighthood of St. Paul, St. Christopher and Ladies Of Bethany of the Diocese was held on Saturday, April 3, 2021, at the Cathedral Church of St. Faith, Awka.
In his sermon, the Archbishop Ecclesiastical Province of the Niger and Bishop of Awka Diocese, the Most Revd Dr Alexander C. Ibezim who preached on the theme “You Are Chosen To Serve reminded the Knights and Dames that Knighthood was not an opportunity for popularity. He described a Knight as an honourable servant and soldier of the church, and admonished the newly invested knights and dames to be men and women of integrity and faith in the administration of the church.
According to Archbishop Ibezim, “as you have been admitted into the knighthood the Diocese has painstakingly recruited you into the army to join in the labour of service of the church”. He charged the knights to serve in humility and be helpers in their different localities.
In her goodwill message, Ekwunife congratulated Dame Ebele Ulasi (PhD) and Hon. Engr. Chinedu Onwuaso, and urged them to enliven the virtues of knighthood. She urged them to continue to serve the church and mankind, for to whom much is given much is expected.
