…endorses Senator Ekwunife’s re-election bid

The Senator representing Anambra Central Senatorial District, Uche Ekwunife, PhD re-election bid continues to gain approval with a galaxy of endorsements from community leaders in the zone.

The latest being the traditional ruler of Okpuno, Igwe Engr. Sunday. I. Okafor declared no vacancy in Anambra Central Senatorial District.  The monarch made the declaration at his palace as Senator Ekwunife in the company of the PDP House of Representatives candidate for Awka North and South Federal Constituency, Chief Emeka Vincent Igwe and PDP State Assembly Candidate for Awka South Constituency-A, Hon Collins Okoye paid him a courtesy visit to thank him for his support, officially inform him her ambition to seek for their mandate to return to the Senate.


Welcoming the lawmaker, Igwe Okafor extolled Ekwunife for her people-oriented leadership and representation in the zone. He further noted that Ekwunife has performed tremendously well and has attended to most of the needs of Okpuno. The custodian of the culture and traditions of Okpuno added that the community was without legislative presence until Ekwunife’s sojourn at the National Assembly where the community enjoys true dividends of Democracy.

Igwe Okafor, while commending Ekwunife graciously endorsed the Lawmaker’s re-election bid and urged the community to support the Lawmaker for her tremendous performance and declared no vacancy in Anambra Central Senatorial District.

The President General of Okpuno, Engr. Victor Egwuatu added that Ekwunife’s victory has been decided and will be sealed on February 25th. He urged the Lawmaker not to worry as the entire Okpuno appreciate her good works and will support her re-election.

Addressing the Monarch, Ekwunife thanked the Monarch for his kind words, adding that Okpuno community is one of the exceptional communities so dear to her and pledged to continue attracting projects in Okpuno.

The grade-A Lawmaker further maintained that Okpuno has been supporting her in every election and that her projects in Okpuno are verifiable. She continued by highlighting her achievements at the National Assembly and urged the community to support a ranking Senator who has a bright opportunity to attract the dividends of democracy since the National Assembly is about ranking and political parties with the majority.

Conclusively, the Senator maintained that she has supplied school materials to community secondary school and Central primary school, Okpuno, facilitated the construction of Okochi road, Okpuno, provision of solar street lights, construction and rehabilitation of 6 classroom blocks at Okpuno primary school, supply of 2 tricycles, free medical outreach in Okpuno and facilitation of Federal Government grants and pensionable jobs to Okpuno youths amongst others.

From the Igwe’s Palace, Ekwunife proceeded to Ezinifite town hall where she interacted with the good people of Okpuno who trooped out en-masse to receive the capacity Senator.
