The Senator representing Anambra Central Senatorial District, Uche Ekwunife, Friday, May 14, 2021, joined the PDP Vice Presidential candidate in the last elections and former governor of Anambra state, HE Peter Obi, members of her campaign organization and the entire family of Chief Lazarus Nnazoba Ezenagu and Umuologu Clan of Amaezike village, Mgbakwu, Awka North LGA to bid farewell to late Chief (Dr.) Hon. Sir Godson Chukwuma Ezenagu.
Late Ezenagu popularly known as Ochendo Ndigbo Nile, Ebube Awka North was a former Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development, and one time Chairman, Anambra State Housing Development Corporation. He was the former House Of Reps Candidate for Awka North/South Federal Constituency under APGA in 2007 and 2015 general elections.
The funeral service which was held at St. Stephen’s Anglican Church, Mgbakwu and was officiated by Most Revd. Alexander C. Ibezim, Archbishop Province Of The Niger And Bishop Of Awka Diocese had in attendance dignitaries from different strata of society notably the President General of Nri kingdom, Chief Dr Kelvin Obiegbunam.
In her condolence message, Ekwunife expressed sadness over the death of late Chief Ezenagu, saying he was cerebral and people friendly. She noted that the deceased lived an impactful lifestyle and touched many lives in the society. Ekwunife encouraged the wife to live for the children and maintain the good legacies the former Commissioner left behind. She prayed God to comfort the family in this moment of grief.
Ekwunife on behalf of her family and members of her campaign organization extended condolences to the entire family of the deceased.
Late Chief Ezenagu had the popular people-oriented political slogan “Ochendo, Ochendo, my people my people”. He died at the age of 69.
