Ekwunife Mourns Late Chief Silas Anagu, Commiserates With Campaign DG

The Senator representing Anambra Central Senatorial District, Uche Ekwunife, April 23, 2021, in company of members of her campaign organization joined sympathizers, friends, well-wishers and the entire Egbobe kindred of Aguma village, Umuoji, Idemili North LGA to pay their respects to late Chief Silas Nwachukwu Anagu.

Late Anagu popularly known as Ichie Ezeudo was until his passage an elder brother to Dr A. A Anagu. Dr Anagu is the Director General of Senator Uche Ekwunife campaign organization.

The Requiem Mass which was held at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church, Aguma, Umuoji was celebrated by the Archbishop of Onitsha and Metropolitan of Onitsha Ecclesiastical Province, His Grace, Most Rev. Valerian Okeke and had in attendance the regent of Umuoji community, Chief Chris Nnaedu (Odezuluigbo Umuoji).

In his homily, Very Rev. Fr. Francis Ezumezu described death as a reality that no mortal will escape. He drew his reflection from the book of Matt 5:7 and reminded all to be cautious of their deeds. He preached that living out a positive legacy is worthwhile.

Very Rev. Fr. Ezumezu further eulogized the late Anagu for his huge contributions in the Umuoji community and towards the growth of the church. He noted that the title “Ichie Ezeudo” was a reflection of the deceased peace-loving lifestyle and advised the children of the deceased to sustain the legacy and good foundation their beloved father left behind.

Condoling the family, Ekwunife expressed grief over the death of the deceased, describing late Chief Anagu as a great iroko who will be greatly missed by the family, community and beyond. The Senator eulogized the virtues of Ichie Ezeudo and prayed God to comfort the family over the great loss.

Speaking on behalf of the family, Ichie Peter Obiako thanked Ekwunife for mourning with the family. He commended the Senator’s giant strides and prayed for a successful outing in her guber ambition.

The Chairman Senate Committee on Science and Technology however on behalf of her family, campaign organization and the good people of Anambra Central Senatorial District extended condolences to Dr A. A Anagu and the entire family of the deceased.

Late Chief Anagu was survived by wife, children, grandchildren amongst others. He died at the age of 69.

Amongst the dignitaries present was the Vice Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Professor Charles Esimone.
