Ekwunife Reassures Equitable Representation, Inspects Ongoing Project In Amawbia Market

The Senator representing Anambra Central Senatorial District, Uche Ekwunife PhD, has reassured her commitment for equitable and quality representation, assuring that every part of the zone would benefit from her developmental projects. The Senator said that she has lived up to expectations on the floor of the Senate and would not rest on her laurels.

Ekwunife, who made this known on Wednesday, August 11, 2021, during the inspection of the ongoing Amawbia market project noted that she was satisfied with the level of work done at the site. The Senator who was represented by a delegation of her project team led by the former Commissioner for Women Affairs, Lady Henrietta Agbata thanked the market association for their support and cooperation, adding that the project which will serve as the market secretariat and offices will soon be commissioned

Welcoming the Senator’s delegation, the Chairman of the Amawbia Market Amalgamated Traders Association (AMATA), Pastor Godwin Eze described Ekwunife as a “Talk and Do” lawmaker, saying that she is one of the best Senators in Nigeria. He assured that the traders will continue to support Ekwunife in her political sojourn.

“We have seen many politicians who made promises during electioneering without fulfilment and tangible representation, but Ekwunife came to us[Market traders] during the last general elections and promised us this project, we are glad not only that she is fulfilling her campaign promises but at the quality of materials being used at the site which will house the market secretariat and offices”, added the Chairman.

On his part, Mr. Ananyo Nnaemedo praised the Senator for her giant strides in the National Assembly, noting that she has blazed a trail for other Senators to follow. He commended Ekwunife for her boldness and courageous representation, saying that the people of the zone will keep supporting her.

Other market traders who spoke described Ekwunife as a woman with a Midas touch, expressing optimism that the project will be timely commissioned. They assured the Senator of their continuous support and prayers as she discharges her mandate.

Present were former Managing Director of Anambra state Physical Planning Board, Chief Victor Okpoko, former Anambra state Accountant General, Mrs. Helen Nwaeri, Legislative Assistant to the Senator, Mrs. Ify Chinwuko, Mr. Onyi Okeke (Coordinator Awka South), Mrs Amaka Obieze (Woman Coordinator Awka South SUECO), Mr. Christian Emuwa (Coordinator Amawbia ward 3), Mr. Victor Okoye (Secretary Amata) amongst others.
