Ekwunife’s 8th Empowerment programme: What Manner of Woman Is She?

By Linus Chukwuma

It took only 25 days into the very beginning of the year, and few days before National Assembly would reconvene for plenary session to get a sight of what the future holds for the Anambra Central Senatorial District, and by extension Anambra state.

The very zone is known for her high expectations and only representation devoid of self-aggrandisement and greed matters to the constituents, and nothing can be worthier that Uche Ekwunife has since her foray into the Nigerian politics found trust, love and rapport via striking performance. To recap, for those at the back: Ekwunife has proved her mettle by completely airing A-grade representation.

When in December of the previous year she promised to continue with the excellent representation I never knew it would be a boom. Forgive me, but not too many politicians can particularly make a pledge during election year and I take it as their bond, but persistently Ekwunife has established herself as a politician whose word is bond.

But, please what manner of woman is she?

Yesterday’s afternoon, residents that transited through Enugu-onitsha express way must have noticed sprawling assemblage at Senator Uche Ekwunife Event Centre, Awka. It was the venue of her empowerment programme, and at the last count it’s the 8th since she emerged in the 9th Assembly.

Having been at the front of amelioration of the suffering of many constituents, she took a shift from the last, this time, empowering many with numerous vehicles, motorcycles, tricycles, sewing machines, generators and lest I forget, fridges for businessmen and women.

One of the beneficiaries, Mr. Jude Umejeh from Nawfia in his speech tagged the empowerment as incomparable, saying that no person both in Anambra and beyond has empowered constituents like the performing Senator has done. He thanked the Senator for the initiative and enjoined Ndi Anambra never to miss working tirelessly for the emergence of the women best to be known as Mrs. Empowerment -Senator Uche Ekwunife – as the next governor.

While he bade witness to an excellent representation being felt in the zone, the Chairman Senate Committee on Science and Technology mellifluously held me spellbound with her heartfelt speech. Ekwunife, who acknowledged the grace of God as her driving force, said that she felt very happy impacting positively in the lives of her constituents and beyond.

The Senator thanked her constituents for their continuous support, however, regrettably she noted that no one person can meet the needs of everybody at once, but assured that, she would always do her best to improve humanity.

Energetic Ekwunife according to the testimonies of beneficiaries has touched thousands of lives since her first batch of empowerment.

Still, the Igbo-Ukwu born Senator has promised to do more for the zone. She noted that the generality of Anambra Central: her campaign coordinators, party faithfuls, non party members, Communities and others that entrusted her with their mandate will continue to appreciate her representation. It is however a wake up call to other underperforming representatives to learn from the selfless service from Ekwunife.

Ekwunife, meanwhile, instead of enriching her pocket as most persons will do truly empowered her constituents with the intent of strengthening the curves of economic downturn, the good people of Anambra Central whom she represents on the floor of the Senate won’t have wished for a better representative.

Let’s once again give it to Ekwunife for her uncommon representation.
