The primary duties of a legislator include sponsoring of Bills and Motions which will impact lives and improve the living condition of the lawmaker’s constituents.
The PDP candidate for Awka North and South House of Representatives Emeka Igwe while speaking to journalists at his palatial residence in Awka, made it clear that besides oversight functions and lawmaking, one of the most important duties of a Legislator is moving for Bills and motions which will impact the constituents positively.
His wealth of knowledge and experience both in private and public sectors will play a leading role in initiation and sponsoring of Bills and Motions at the Green Chamber.
Even as a private person without holding any public office, Emeka Igwe has sponsored a Bill on the floor of the Anambra state Assembly. This shows that as an elected representative Chief Emeka Igwe will leave no stone unturned in driving the push for Impactful bills and motions on the floor of the National Assembly.
These bills and motions will be based on the needs of the people of Awka North and South Federal Constituency, which will be identified through interaction with the people ( inclusive representation). These interactions will be through town hall meetings, feedback mechanism, and direct interaction with some stakeholders.
Indeed it is time we get it right, this shows that Emeka Igwe is coming prepared, with tools in hand to hit the ground running once he gets elected.
