I had been privileged to observe Engr Chris Emeka Azubogu from close quarters. I found out that many people that come around him don’t give him his due respect.

Why?

Because he is so simple, so humble, ever smiling and accommodating. But if you’re very diligent in spotting greatness you will understand the stuff the federal lawmaker representing Nnewi North, Nnewi South and Ekwusigo is truly made of. Believe me, he is exceptional. There are few people that are as dedicated as the man we call Mr Project when it comes to matters that will improve mankind.

Yesterday being January 29, 2021, he appeared before the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP Exco and Stakeholders to notify them of his interest to contest for the governorship of Anambra State come November 6 this year as his party’s candidate. He stood and spoke for about 90 minutes. By the time he was done, people around, including newsmen, were yearning for more.

Don’t count Hon Azubogu as one of your great orators. He’s not in the right sense of the word. What keep people glued are his knowledge of statecraft and his glaring honesty in making very practicable promises. Backed up by a truckload of very mass-appealing antecedents, it is very easy to believe him when he promises more.

From his achievements so far as a legislator now for 10 years, his experience and knowledge of the system, you’d know that what he promises are real. Pick of the pack is his blueprint on Gas Infrastructure. With that it’ll be very practicable to double or even triple IGR within his promised 18 months in office.

The depth of his speech yesterday will be discussed in days to come as we move towards party primaries. When you see a quality material you’ll know at first glance. Those of us privileged to have come close knew. Those hearing him for the first time yesterday have been nodding in agreement.

He’s not only very prepared to serve he’s also very knowledgeably disposed to rescuing Anambra State from the present depth of despair.
