Sequel to the public information making the rounds and the excitement about the upcoming scheme popularly called Hon Azubogu Medical Outreach, a few vital points need emphasizing.
This is an intervention programme in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Health, put together by Hon Chris Azubogu to help people who cannot afford or access quality healthcare. It brings together medical personnel, including specialist doctors, consultants, nurses, pharmacists and medical technologists.
Apart from surgeries ranging from cataract to fibroid, hernia and others, there will be provision of as many as 10,000 reading glasses, drugs, consultations, medical examinations and diagnostics; as well as counselling and health education – all at no cost.
Last year’s version which this one is structured to surpass in scale and spread was a tremendous success, in terms of ailments that were attended to and healed. For instance, eye specialists carried out about 55 to 56 eye surgeries in a day. In addition over 4,000 medicated glasses were given, that is, after thorough eye checks.
Engr. Azubogu has proved time and again that representation should have material and empirical returns to constituencies. This he has demonstrated over the years with countless projects ranging from roads, markets, water schemes, skills acquisition and necessary tools.
Pre-registration started over 10 days ago and the responses suggest this year’s edition will be the bomb it was planned to be. The team of medical personnel will arrive Nnewi on Sunday, November 29, in readiness for kick off on Monday, November 30 and lasts till December 8.
Please ensure you register, if in need and take advantage of this yearly scheme that started in 2017.
