Somebody told me yesterday that he is supporting Engr Chris Emeka Azubogu, the federal lawmaker representing Nnewi North, Nnewi South and Ekwusigo Constituency, to become the next governor of Anambra State because of his medical outreaches, particularly the fourth edition. That he had never seen such genuine love for humanity in politics before. He went on and on. And his reasons for such affirmation sounded undoubtedly very reasonable.
However, the man we call Mr Project is not all about medical outreaches. This is just one of his numerous contributions to the betterment of mankind. While those consumed by envy and hate make spurious and uninformed allegations that the UNN-trained engineer is claiming federal projects, the quintessential representative is not deterred as he continues to dig from his wealth of experience to source for solutions by attracting projects and making interventions that will make people’s lives better.
Check out a man, whose consultancy services enabled his ICT company, Exmark to assist governments of Rivers, Anambra and Enugu States to tackle the crippling cases of ghost workers in the hitherto corrupt system and generally improve efficiency in governance. Think of the invaluable experiences garnered as a representative of the 7th, 8th and 9th Assemblies. Think about the quantum of statecraft garnered from being Deputy Chairman, House Committee on Capital Market and Institutions and member of other critical committees such as Power, Aids, Loans, Debt Management, ICT, Interior and Agriculture (7th Assembly); Deputy Chairman, House Committee on Appropriation and also a member of several committees, including Committees on Science and Technology, Industries, Commerce, Telecommunication, Urban Development and Regional Planning (8th Assembly); Deputy Chairman, House Committee on Aids, Loans and Debt Management as well as a member of several House Committees including Appropriation (9th Assembly).
In this coming era of scary future, where the next government of Anambra State would evidently be battling on how to keep a debt-riden state out of the cobwebs, such highly experienced man of known prudent credentials in the nation’s debt management system could certainly be our saviour.
Still, you have to see the blueprint of Mr Project on how to maximally tap from the huge potentials of Gas Infrastructure in dear state to understand how far this unassuming workaholic has prepared for a future of zero revenue from oil.
Take it from me, Hon Azubogu is loaded to deliver.
