Information and communication technology is an umbrella term for any communication device encompassing radio, television, cellular phones, computer network, hardware and software, satellite systems, various services and appliances associated with them, such as video conferencing and distance learning. ICTs are spoken of in a context like ICTs in Education, Healthcare, Libraries, Economy, Governance.
Engr Chris Azubogu is a tech-preneur and ICT consultant with vast experience dating from 1991 till date in knowledge of software, IT services, Networking, Data management among others. His company Exmark Technologies worked under contract with Halliburton, Shell, and Schlumberger for under water camera installation, inspection, repairs, installing comprehensive communication systems. He is a tech-guru who is tech-savvy enough to develop ICT solutions for automated payroll management and elimination of ghost workers. This, he used to improve efficiency of governance for Rivers, Enugu and Anambra states.
As a guber aspirant, his expertise is highly needed to chart a positive course using ICT to develop and impact successfully on Anambrarians especially the Civil Service, to replicate what he did during Sir Peter Obi’s tenure where he used his tech-savviness to eliminate payroll fraud and criminality in the Civil Service. He enumerated every Primary, Post Secondary schools in 177 communities in the state to accurately determine the Teachers/Pupils ratio as well as eliminate Ghost Teachers.
ICT was used by IfeanyiChụkwụ Nnewi to help cut cost of Governance in Anambra state by conducting biometric verification of all Civil Servants and automating the payroll system in the entire state including LGA staff, pensions, primary and post primary school teachers. Thereby fraud was reduced in governance, payroll fraud and cost of Governance abated while revenues increased to millions of naira annually for the state. ICT centres were built by him in some select schools in the federal constituency.
The hallmark of his government if elected will be based on efficiency, functionality and flexibility using ICT as the global bedrock that brings significant improvements to human life, business operations, streamline work flow systems and automate routine tasks. We need Engr. Azubogu, the tech-preneur and tech-guru to maintain and enhance the competitive advantage over other rivals outside the state. He will do more as he is prepared to serve.
