Expanding The “1 Youth 2 Skills Solution,” The Commissioner For Youth Reaches Out To 179 Communities In Anambra

In a significant move to amplify the impact of the “1 Youth 2 Skills Solution,” the Commissioner for Youth Development in Anambra State, Mr. Patrick Agha Mba took the initiative to the Anambra State Association of Town Union (ASATU) on the 3rd of February, 2024. This expansion follows the successful empowerment of 5000 youths during the first phase, who became beneficiaries of Governor Soludo’s N2 Billion Start-up Grants across 22 skill areas.

Addressing the President Generals of the 179 communities, Commissioner Mba expressed gratitude to Chief Barr. Akpudo Titus , the National President of ASATU, for his steadfast leadership. He urged the Presidents Generals to nominate three individuals from their respective towns to participate in the upcoming mentorship stage of the program.

Commissioner Mba provided insight into the mentorship phase, emphasizing its role in preparing beneficiaries for the subsequent stage, which involves accessing the N2.5 Billion through the Anambra Small Business Agency (ASBA) for business expansion and sustainability. This activities is geared towards completions of the first phase of the 1 Youth 2 Skills Solution which will usher in the Second Phase of the program.

Chief Barr Akpudo, National President of ASATU, commended Governor Prof Charles Chukwuma Soludo’s visionary leadership and applauded the empowerment initiatives for Anambra’s youth. He urged his colleagues to fully support Commissioner Mba’s request and ensure the necessary community resources are allocated to facilitate the program’s success.
