In anticipation of the approaching ember months, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has unveiled a comprehensive set of strategies aimed at curbing road accidents and ensuring safety on the nation’s highways.
Speaking from his office in Awka, the Anambra State Sector Commandant of FRSC, Mr. Adeoye Irelewuyi, highlighted the urgency of the situation. The ember months, a period leading up to the festive season, have historically witnessed a surge in nationwide traffic, often accompanied by a higher frequency of accidents.
Mr. Irelewuyi underscored the success of their ongoing efforts to raise awareness about the dangers of disregarding traffic regulations, reckless driving, and vehicle overloading. As a result of these educational initiatives, there has been a notable reduction in road accidents and traffic congestion.
The Corps, committed to preserving lives and ensuring smooth traffic flow, has restructured its operational protocols. In preparation for the anticipated increased activities during the ember months, FRSC personnel will meticulously assess and optimize available resources.
With an earnest call to action, Mr. Irelewuyi urged the residents of Anambra to wholeheartedly adhere to highway regulations and exercise utmost caution throughout the forthcoming festive celebrations. The collective commitment to responsible driving and road safety, he emphasized, is pivotal to a joyous and accident-free holiday season.
