A high-profile endorsement for the leading aspirant for the November 6 governorship election, Senator Uche Ekwunife, by Chief Nonso Ozoemena is adding warmth to the galaxy of endorsements recently received by the A-grade Senator ahead of the party primary election. Chief Ozoemena described Ekwunife as an aspirant whose experience, proven antecedents and contributions to the growth of humanity cannot be compared to that of other aspirants.
Chief Ozoemena a major stakeholder in Anambra East LGA and leader in the party, who on Wednesday June 2, 2021, hosted all statutory delegates across Anambra East local government area of Anambra state declared support for Ekwunife, noting that permutations favour PDP to return to Agu Awka with Ekwunife on the ballot.
Chief Ozoemena who was represented by the Chairman of Umuoba Anam ward, Mr. Chukwudi Nwakonuche told the delegates of his unalloyed support for the person of Ekwunife, saying that what informed his decision was the achievements of the Senator in the National Assembly.
Speaking further, the Stakeholder enjoined all delegates to support Ekwunife on the ground of her competence, capacity and political sagacity to transform the fortunes of many ordinary people in the state.
In her speech, Ekwunife who was represented by the former Commissioner for commerce and industry, Hon. Ken Arinze thanked Chief Ozoemena for the show of support, assuring that her government will return the state on the path of economic prosperity. She said that the time has come for someone who understands the optics and peculiarities of the state to lead the state.
The Igbo-Ukwu born senator noted that if elected as the next governor, that her administration will take the state to a lofty and enviable height as envisaged by the founding fathers, promising not to take the endorsement for granted.
While decrying the crumbling infrastructure and negligence of the LGA by the present administration Ekwunife promised to invest massively in public infrastructure and human capital development to reduce the rate of poverty in the state.
Earlier, many stakeholders in the LGA who spoke showed solidarity to Chief Ozoemena, declaring support for Ekwunife’s aspiration. They described Chief Ozoemena as a real party man and promised to always support whosoever he pitches tent with.
