Government Of The People: The Azubogu Leadership Phenomenon (1)

Government, which is defined as the exercise of authority over a group of people, was established on the need of ensuring that the people living in the society are adequately taken care of. By taking care of the people means providing all necessary ingredients of societal development for the people’s greater benefits.

Many a person we call politicians in the world today lack understanding of this principle. It is their lack of this understanding that breeds their failure in governance. But it does not only take knowledge for an elected individual to govern his/her people well while in a position of power. Vision and passion are two catalysts that enable the individual to deliver true dividends for the people.

Anambra State, my dear home State, has been fortunate to have passionate, visionary and innovative leaders govern her from a pitiable state of dilapidation to an enviable state of positive developments. What this means, in effect, is that, it took a passionate leader for Anambra to have established institutions today. It took a visionary leader for Anambra to have saved billions of money for her future. Again, it took an innovative leader for Anambra to, once upon a time, be branded the State with the best and largest road network in Nigeria.

As we can see, the government of Anambra- that is a government working for the people- must be one that has passionate, visionary and innovative leader if and only if she desires to rise from its current state of underdevelopment to a state of an all around transformation.

But of course, our dear State is currently yearning for such a leadership. Our dear State is yearning for a time-tested, proven beyond doubt, and people oriented leader to rescue her from the present socioeconomic and political quagmire. And among the not-too-many well meaning Anambra politicians who can undertake the task of returning her back to an enviable height, Engr Chris Azubogu, a man recently nicknamed “Governor of Projects”, stands out.

Yes, Engr Chris Emeka Azubogu is very much prepared to serve!
