Government Of The People: The Azubogu Leadership Phenomenon (2)

By Chukwudimma Aaron-Okonkwo

One of the best ways to identify a politician who genuinely has the interest of the people at heart, and in particular, ever ready to continue at providing solutions to the challenges facing the people is by examining the antecedents of such a person.

For us in Anambra State, Engr Chris Emeka Azubogu who is ever prepared to serve has such an impeccable antecedent. Since winning his first election in 2011 to represent the people of Nnewi North, Nnewi South and Ekwusigo at the Green Chamber, he has been consistent at identifying perennial problems, then proffering solutions in form of delivering developmental dividends that the people have continued to enjoy for good.

Among such dividends are his yearly medical outreach whereby thousands of people from far and near are gathered to be treated free of charge. Like a religious crusade ground, Azubogu medical outreach performed not just miracles, but amazing wonders! The blind sees after eye surgery. The pregnant delivers after gynecological surgery. The dying walks after general surgery. The ailing gets better after receiving medications.

The Azubogu leadership phenomenon is one that loves to identify the challenges facing the people. It is a leadership that loves to alleviate the health challenges that the people face. It is a leadership that aptly understands that the health of the people should be a top priority in developmental index.

We must therefore encourage this kind of leadership phenomenon to serve us more from an executive approach. And the key to achieving this is to continue thumbing our fingers for Mr Project in any future elections he seeks.

Truly, #helpiscoming.
