Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, CFR, has announced the appointment of a new Governing Council for the state-owned institution.

The newly appointed Council is expected to bring a wealth of experience and strategic insight to the university, ensuring its continued growth and development. The Council is comprised of distinguished individuals known for their excellence, integrity, and leadership.

Heading the Council as Pro-Chancellor and Chairman is Professor Chidi Odinkalu, a respected figure in academia and public affairs. Other notable members of the Council include Chief (Mrs) Ifeoma Ekwueme, Ambassador Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, Chief Christopher Ndubuisi, and HRH Oranu Chris Chidume.

Governor Soludo’s decision to appoint this diverse and accomplished team reflects his administration’s commitment to elevating educational standards and fostering an environment of academic excellence at COOU.

The appointments were confirmed by Christian Aburime, Press Secretary to the Governor, in a statement released on June 4, 2024.
