Those who do not understand the character of shadows may be forgiven, if they are sincerely oblivious that it is a by-product of an object walking or standing through the rays of light. But for anyone who drinks expired political juice their public displays always appear questionable and laughable. Worse, it diminishes the writers profile and rating.
And so let it be with that accredited and mendacious attack by Okelo Madukaife, when he used the name of Minister Raji Fashola to draw a bad card, a bad job to sling a baseless hollow attack on Engr Chris Azubogu, about his numerous projects, especially road infrastructures. I wonder if Mr Madukaife realises how close he worked near libel with that feeble attempt at maligning the image of a star performer and smuggling Fashola’s name in the process.
The subject, Engr Chris Azubogu is focused and experienced. He has ascended the political space of Anambra State like a Pelican. One can understand that by his passion, actions, deep sense of service and what Anambra State needs in other to reposition herself with tangible things that those indigenous to her crave for better living. That should be understandable if only we can pry into where he is coming from; his vibrancy and strategic involvement in important legislation at The National Assembly. The list is impressive, but let’s just take a slice of it for our purpose:
- Fiscal Responsibility Act (Repeal and Re-enactment) Bill
- National Emergency Management Agency (Repeal and Re-enactment) Bill
And on the Committees he has served in:
- Appropriation
- Interior
- Aids, Loans and Dept Management
- Constituency Outreach
- Agriculture
- Governmental Affairs
- Housing Services /Welfare.
Recall some of the motions Azubogu moved or sponsored. They include the one on EFCC about Innoson Motors; on Recognition for Humphrey Nwosu for his role on annulled 1993/Abiola election; on Police Reforms that indicted SARS modus operandi; on Rail and Water Ways into Igbo land; on Ecological Intervention, etc.
Recently he spoke, while at Igbariam and calls for the development of agro-processing hub within the Omambala area of the State to maximize the agro value-chain, and generate jobs for young people. That is a whole new economic strategy for the State, with focus on primary production that will feed markets.
He thinks the future… The saddle awaits!
