The Anambra state Commissioner for Health, Dr. Afam Obidike says the state government will continue to explore all possible avenues to improve the health indices of the state.
Dr. Obidike made this known when he received the Head, Rotarian Action Group, Prof. Peter Neuner from Austria in the state.
According to Commissioner Obidike, Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s administration is poised to partnering individuals and groups both locally and internationally to improve the health indices of the state as well as enhance service delivery.
Dr. Obidike maintained that Anambra state government will partner Rotary International to ensure that health care services, especially in the areas of mother and child health is improved and sustained.
An executive director at the Anambra state Investment Promotion and Protection Agency (ANSIPPA), Mrs. Uju Manafa-Nwume said that the partner with the Rotary International will benefit the state immensely.
For Professor Neuner, Rotary assists people and governments around the world in many areas, especially in family planning, Malaria prevention and treatment among others and said that he will visit some of the state’s medical facilities to ascertain their level of operations, so as to know how to help.
Some of the facilities visited by Commissioner Obidike and his visitor were Amanuke General Hospital, Amanuke Primary Heath Centre, All in Awka North Local Government Area, Enugwu-Ukwu General Hospital in Njikoka Council Area, as well as Awkuzu Comprehensive Health Centre, in Oyi Local Government Area.
