Housing Development Will Be One Of My Priorities As Governor, Ekwunife Declares

–Commissions another 3-Bedroom Bungalow For A Widow In Oba, Idemili South

The leading aspirant for the November 6 governorship election under the platform of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Uche Ekwunife (Iyom), has assured that housing development will be one of her priorities as governor if elected. She noted that part of the government responsibilities is to provide affordable housing for its people.

Ekwunife made this known on Monday, May 10, 2021, while commissioning a 3-bedroom bungalow she built for Mrs. Eunice Agusiokwu, a widow of Aboji village, Oba community, Idemili South LGA, Anambra state. The 3-bedroom is one of the housing projects Ekwunife built for the less privileged and widows across the Anambra Central Senatorial District. Ekwunife had in the last few weeks embarked on projects inspection and commissioning tour in the zone.

Speaking shortly before the commissioning, Ekwunife thanked God for using her to provide shelter for the widow, stating that she was happy that the beneficiary deserves the gesture. She noted that an impactful lifestyle is worth living while reassuring that the more she gets the more she will give to the people.

Ekwunife noted that the project is one of her numerous ways to appreciate her constituents, after given her the mandate to represent them on the floor of the Senate, adding that she will complete all the ongoing projects in the district. The visibly emotional lawmaker said that she will keep in touch with the beneficiary and continue to do what she can to stabilise the woman.

The Igbo-Ukwu born Senator further appreciated all those who nominated the beneficiaries for their sincerity in nominating deserving beneficiaries. Ekwunife advised all to always do whatever they can to support humanity.

While welcoming the Senator, the PG of Oba Patriotic Union, Rev. Chris Emerie thanked Ekwunife for her numerous projects across the zone, adding that she is an uncommon lawmaker. He equally thanked Ekwunife for other projects she is doing in the community. Rev. Emerie prayed God to bless the efforts of Ekwunife and make her guber aspiration a success.

As tears of joy rolled down the cheek of the beneficiary, she lacked words to appreciate Ekwunife for gifting her a 3-bedroom bungalow. Mrs. Agusiokwu noted that she never knew that such a gesture would be extended to her. She prayed God to continue to bless Ekwunife as she aspires to become the next governor of Anambra state.

Similarly, Miss Gloria Agusiokwu, a sister-in-law to the widow said that she was dumbfounded by the gesture the Chairman Senate Committee on Science and Technology extended to her Uncle’s wife. In appreciation she presented a bouquet to Ekwunife, saying silver or gold she had none. She prayed God to make Ekwunife the next governor come November 6.

On his part, the former Speaker of Anambra State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon.
