IHEMBOSI STANDS WITH EBUKA ONUNKWO

When it became public that certain disgruntled elements led by a misguided kinsman residing outside the shores of the country, have chosen to rewrite the well known history of the ancient town of Ihembosi in Ekwusigo LGA of Anambra State, the entire town was thrown into rude shock.

If the self serving elements had restricted their devious plot to mere distortion of facts and their negative pursuits of anti Ihembosi interests, the town may not have noticed or cared, but attempting to impugn the integrity of one of the greatest human assets of the town, His Royal Majesty, Ebuka Onunkwo, the Eze Ndigbo of Benin Republic, was an affront too dangerous to ignore.

For instance, Ebuka Onunkwo was a former President – General of the town, who before and after his tenure has continued to contribute immensely to the development of the community. His footprints on the sand of time are indelible. Sea Horse Lubricants Industry which he founded has taken many of our youths off the streets by giving them gainful employment.

For over a decade, Ebuka Onunkwo has ensured that Ihembosi children and all those who are fortunate to school in the town are able to continue to pursue their aspirations of western education. Annually he pays WAEC and NECO fees for every student of Ihembosi Community Secondary School, not minding state or Local Government of origin . The best students in English Language, Mathematics and the Sciences in all the classes enjoy scholarships provided by the philanthropist.

The population of widows, orphans and less privileged persons who are in business and able to take care of themselves and their families because of startup grants given to them by this phenomenal young entrepreneur continues to soar. Ebuka Onunkwo’s record of verifiable community service is astonishing and the principal reason the entire town is bemused, annoyed and angry by the vicious attempts to rewrite history by self serving egotists who have no record of community service.

The only asphalted road of almost two kilometers transversing Okija town and
Ihembosi was constructed by Ebuka Onunkwo and the road is used daily by these individuals who are desperately trying to deconstruct our history, their friends and relatives. Onunkwo’s record of community service is impeccable and his contributions to the peace, growth and development of Ihembosi is the reason the entire town is standing with him against this conspiracy of lies and misinformation by agents of confusion.
