Ikenwe Joins Aniocha South Council Chairmanship Seat Race

The Vice Chairman of Aniocha South Local Government, Hon. Joe Ikenwe has declared his intention to contest for the chairmanship seat of Aniocha South Local Government Area of Delta State. He will be contesting on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, P.D.P.

Ikenwe disclosed this on his Facebook page on Wednesday. He informed his teeming followers that he has commenced wide consultations and visitations.

Ikenwe wrote: “my journey to contest for the exalted position of Executive Chairman, Aniocha South Local Government Council, on the platform of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP), started today with consultation of Party Excos in Ward 5, Ubulu-Uku, Aniocha South LGA, Delta State.”

He also stated that the experience and knowledge he has garnered as Vice Chairman has prepared him to take up the mantle of leadership and ensure perpetual progress in the L.G.A.

In his own words, “Having meritoriously served as Vice Chairman of the Council, I believe I have the requisite political experience, exposure and entrepreneurship ingenuity to drive development in the Council Area and ensure continuity of the progress already recorded.”

He also appreciated his ward leader, Hon. Mrs Joan Onyemaechi Mrakpor, the PDP ward chairman, Mr Peter Chiadika and members of his Excos.

The Delta State Independent Electoral Commission has fixed March 6, 2021 as date for the conduct of elections into chairmanship and councilorship positions in the state.
