Imo Police Engage in Bloody Shootout with IPOB/ESN Militia at Forest Camp

The Imo State Police Command has reported a violent confrontation between its operatives and members of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and its militia arm, the Eastern Security Network (ESN).

The incident occurred at a camp in Ubah Agwa/Izombe tropical rain forest in Oguta Local Area, leaving several individuals wounded. According to the Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Barde, the police had acted on intelligence that the group was planning an attack from the forest hideout.

The police tactical teams engaged in a gunfight with the militants, ultimately overpowering them with superior firepower. The police recovered weapons, ammunition, uniforms, and motorcycles from the site.
