Infrastructural Development: Anambra Lawmaker, Udoba Calls for Active Community Involvement in Public Facility Maintenance

In a bid to promote community development and preserve public facilities, Hon. Patrick Obalum-Udoba, the representative of Anambra West Constituency in the Anambra State House of Assembly, has urged the elders and stakeholders of the area to take ownership and protect all public amenities within the constituency.

Hon. Obalum-Udoba made this call during a gathering with the elders and stakeholders of the constituency in Umueze Anam. The event was organized to show appreciation to Governor Chukwuma Soludo for the ongoing connection of Umueze Anam-Onono to the national grid, a crucial infrastructural development in the region.

Commending Governor Soludo for his remarkable developmental strides in Anambra State and specifically in Anambra West, Hon. Udoba emphasized the significance of communal responsibility in safeguarding government facilities in the area.

The lawmaker assured the governor of the continuous support of Ndi Anambra West for his administration. He also urged Governor Soludo to prioritize the completion of ongoing projects in the area and to initiate and accomplish new ones that are vital for the socioeconomic development of the region.

Chief Mike Nnakwuzie, the National President of the Anam Peoples Assembly, praised Governor Soludo for his innovative leadership style. He appealed to the governor to prioritize essential amenities such as motorable roads, access to pipe-borne water, and quality education for the people of Anambra West, to ensure equitable development in line with other regions in the state.

In addition, Igwe George Ekwealor, the traditional ruler of Umuoba Anam, highlighted the urgent need for the Anambra state government to address the issue of perennial flooding that poses a threat to the livelihoods of the people in the area. As the food basket of the state, he urged the state government to collaborate with the federal government in finding lasting solutions to this pressing challenge.
