ONITSHA – A chemical explosion claimed the lives of many at Ogbo Ogwu market head bridge Onitsha early hours of Tuesday afternoon.
The explosion from the footage available to us has engulfed shops and properties in the market, casualties have also been recorded in the incident.
When contacted, the Managing Director of the Anambra State Fire Service, Engr. Martin Agbili confirmed the fire incident but said it affected a section of the Ọgbọ Ọgwụ Market.
The cause of the incident has not been clarified yet, as the authorities are still working to rescue trapped victims.
The extent of damages caused by the fire is also yet to be ascertained.
