A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has granted the application that the Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu be kept in DSS custody pending the continuation of his trial on twenty sixth July, twenty twenty one.
The IPOB leader was arraigned at the federal High Court today, Tuesday, 29th June, 2021, in what many described as covet and swift operation.
According to the Attorney General of the Federation, and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, following the revoking of Kanu’s bail on the twenty eight of March twenty nineteen, a bench warrant was issued against him for subversive activities such as instigating violence against the Nigerian State through Television and online broadcasts and as such, he was intercepted on Sunday, twenty seventh June, twenty twenty one.
He said the feat was achieved through the collaborative efforts of the Nigeria intelligence and security services and brought back to Nigeria to continue facing trial after disappearing after bail.
Though journalists claimed not to have seen Mr. Kanu, a lawyer in the High Court, Marshall Abubakar said he saw him covered in hood and hand cuffs.
