Lagos Hospital Tragedy: Three Arrested in Connection with Doctor’s Fatal Elevator Accident

The Lagos State Police Command has officially confirmed the arrest of three individuals in relation to the unfortunate death of Dr. Vware Diaso at the General Hospital in Lagos. The command’s spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, disclosed this information to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Saturday. An investigation into the incident has been initiated by the police.

The tragedy occurred when a faulty elevator at the General Hospital, Odan, Lagos, claimed the life of Dr. Diaso. The incident took place on Wednesday evening when the doctor, who resided on the 9th floor, went to meet a dispatch rider who had delivered her food order.

Dr. Diaso, a Babcock University graduate, was in the final stages of her mandatory one-year internship program at the hospital when the unfortunate event took place.

It was reported that the hospital elevator, which crashed from the 10th floor to the ground floor, had previously malfunctioned on multiple occasions, raising concerns about the management’s lack of attention to the issue.

Governor Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State has pledged a thorough investigation into the doctor’s death and extended his condolences to the bereaved family.
