MURIC Raises Concerns over Osun Appointments, Questions Adeleke’s Alleged Ties to CAN

The Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) has expressed its dissatisfaction with the list of commissioners released by Governor Ademola Adeleke in Osun state, which reportedly consists of seven Muslims and 17 Christians.

In a statement issued on Monday, Prof. Ishaq Akintola, the Executive Director of MURIC, accused Governor Adeleke of exhibiting religious bias and granting a license to oppress Muslims in the state.

The statement reads, in part, “We strongly condemn the unjust denial of privileges that should rightfully be allocated to Muslims, diverting them instead to over-pampered and over-represented Christians in Osun State.”

MURIC asserts that Governor Adeleke’s actions amount to deceiving Muslims in the state and engaging in covert maneuvers, which they claim lacks integrity and honor while being steeped in infamy and discrimination.

“The purpose of Adeleke’s deception is to perpetuate the marginalization, unfair treatment, and oppression of Muslims in Osun State. Adeleke is allegedly operating as a secret agent of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN),” the statement alleges.

However, MURIC also suggests that this situation will not last, as time will ultimately reveal the truth. They contend that Governor Adeleke, along with a few Muslims who are allegedly aiding him, will soon come to understand that honesty and transparency are essential qualities for effective and lasting leadership.
