His Royal Majesty Ohna Sergeant Chidi Awuse, the newly appointed Chancellor of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, Oyo State, has pledged to utilize all his resources to ensure the enhancement of LAUTECH’s previous achievements.
The new Chancellor made the commitment during a visit by a delegation from LAUTECH, led by the Pro-Chancellor and the Chairman of the University Governing Council, Professor Ayodeji Omole. The visit was made to the Royal Majesty’s palace in Emohua.
Awuse expressed his appreciation to the Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, who is also the Visitor to the institution, and described his appointment as a great honor.
The institution’s Deputy Registrar, Public and Alumni Relations, Mr. Olelekan Fadeyi, issued a statement on Sunday containing the Chancellor’s remarks during the visit.
Professor Omole, the leader of the LAUTECH team, thanked the Royal Majesty for accepting to serve as the Chancellor and prayed for God’s guidance in leading the institution to greater heights.
The meeting was also attended by other dignitaries, including the Chief of Staff to Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, Chukwuemeka Woke, and the Acting Vice Chancellor of Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, Port-Harcourt, Professor Okey Onuchukwu.
The delegation from LAUTECH included the Registrar and Secretary to the Governing Council and Senate, Dr. Kayode Ogunleye; the Bursar, Mr. Abayomi Okediji; the Deputy Registrar (Council Affairs and Legal Matters), Adebayo Adeyi, and the Deputy Registrar (Public and Alumni Relations), Olalekan Fadeyi. The Chancellor’s investiture is expected to take place during the university’s convocation ceremonies on Friday, April 28.
