Ngige Camp Suffers Set Back As Secretariat Announces Date For Congress, Sales Of Forms

As The APC In Anambra State Gear Up To Elect New Party Officials, It Seems That The Senator Andy Uba/Basil Ejidike Faction Will Emerge Victorious As The National Secretariat Of The Party Has Approved Its Plans To Organize A State Congress.

There has been a schism in the APC following the Anambra State guber elections as each faction led by Senator Andy Uba and Senator Chris Ngige had engaged in a battle royale over party leadership.

While the Andy Uba faction had moved to organise congresses which are due the Ngige faction which had experienced a depletion in its ranks had resorted to getting a series of court injunctions as well as had lobbied the CECPC to shelve the proposed congress.

This was rebuffed by the CECPC which not only recognized the Basil Ejidike leadership, it also gave approval for the conducting of the congress by deploying a Congress Commitee to the state to supervise the excercise which are slated to hold today Wednesday 26 January, 2022.

Miffed by the CECPC’s decision the Ngige/ Moghalu faction then wrote to the security agencies stating that the congresses had been shelved, this was also rebuffed as the police authorities in the state replied that only the Basil Ejidike faction could shelve the APC Congress since it was the only recognized leadership in the state.

Daily News Reporters has gathered that the Ngige faction has decided to throw all spanners into the works with the decision to get all manner of injunctions stopping the congress.

Reacting to the story, the Chairman of the Congress Awareness Committee.of the party, Chief Ralph Okeke described such actions of the Ngige faction as shameful but noted that all efforts to truncate the return of the party to the people in the state would fail.

He described the slated congress as an opportunity to rebuild the party and commended party members for their peaceful conduct.

Also the Acting State Chairman, Basil Ejidike also dismissed the plans to scuttle the congress. He pointed out to AT that this was enough proof that the opposition in the party were not on ground and were looking for all avenues to retain their unholy hold on the success of the party in the state.
