Nigeria’s 62nd Independence: Gov Soludo’s Wife Advocates For Love, Tolerance In The Quest For Better Nigeria

Anambra Governor’s wife, Mrs Nonye Soludo has explained that Nigeria’s path to greater nationhood could be made easier if the virtues of love and tolerance are given a fair and sincere chance.

Mrs Soludo, who explained this in a statement to mark Nigeria’s sixty-second independence anniversary, observed that the country’s diversity could be turned into a formidable strength only if everyone is deliberate about Nigeria’s unity.

She stated that love and tolerance of religion, culture and ethnicity and gender, must be upheld at all times in view of building a national home that accommodates all people irrespective of their ways of life.

The governor’s wife further noted that it is also important to prioritize the place of women and children in governance, asking governments at all levels to institute policies that do not only protect the vulnerable gender but, most importantly, give them an easy platform to thrive and make their marks in national glory.

While reaffirming her belief in a better Nigeria, Mrs Soludo said that despite the current hiccups, the country will rise above her problems, and asked every citizen to show more commitment to the country’s growth upholding honesty, peace and diligence wherever they reside.

She however called for an honest revisit to leadership in Nigeria, stressing that the country’s leadership structure barely works in the interest of a progressive nation.

The governor’s wife wished Nigeria a hitch-free independence day celebration and prayed God to restore lasting peace and love to the country.
