In line with the policy of the Anambra State Government to boost the local economy through agriculture, the Nnewi South TC chairman, Mr Ikenna Aniagboso, today Saturday, June 17, distributed 10,000 coconut and 30,000 palm seedlings to the 20 wards in the council area.
Speaking at the exercise held at the council Headquarters, Ukpor, the Chairman underscored Mr Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo’s commitment to revolutionize the Agro-economy in Anambra State through massive planting of high yield variety of palm and coconut seedlings in all the wards in state.
He further explained that Mr Governor vision was to create an agro-based economy similar to and even better than the economy of the 70’s which was mainly based on palm produce. Therefore urged the beneficiaries to key into the vision and ensure that the seedlings were properly planted to give maximum yield in their various communities.
In appreciation, the town representatives comprising the PG’s, Ward Councillors and some stakeholders eulogized Mr Governor for reviving the economy through agriculture and promised to distribute and plant the seedlings as directed.
