No National Institution Has Worked Harder For Nigeria’s Unity And Stability Than Our Armed Forces- Obiano

Governor Willie Obiano has described the activities of Nigeria’s Armed Force as instrumental to the Country’s unity.

Governor Obiano was speaking today, Friday, 15th January, 2021, while making special remarks at the 2021 Wreath Laying and parade ceremonies to mark the end of Armed Forces rRemembrance Day Celebration.

The event was held at Dr Alex Ekwueme Square, Awka.

Governor Obiano who recounted the history of members of Nigeria’s armed forces, laden with stories of efforts of immense sacrifices, emphasized that the commemoration of those sacrifices is a huge necessity.

While stating that such remembrance has led to safe navigation away from avoidable errors, the Governor said that it helps everyone to take ownership of their tragedies and triumphs, adding that Nigeria’s greatness is measured by the strength of the Armed Forces, whom he said carry the weight of the Country’s struggle for greatness, quest for increased unity as well as the big brother role in Africa.

The wreath laying and parade event marks the end of the remembrance day celebrations which commenced on 1st October, 2020

Armed Forces remembrance day is celebrated every year, to commemorate the immense sacrifices of the Nigerian Armed Forces. A day made special by its solemnity and the power of remembrance.

Governor Obiano had on arrival inspected the parade mounted by the Nigerian Army, Navy and the Nigerian Legion, while wreath laying ceremony, gun salute among others featured at the event.
