The Member Representing Nnewi North Constituency in the Anambra state House of Assembly, and a governorship aspirant under the platform of All Progressives Grand Alliance APGA, Honourable Nonso Smart Okafor has condemned the attack on the Ex- CBN Governor and also a frontline gubernatorial aspirant under the platform of All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, Professor Chukwuma Soludo by unknown gunmen on Wednesday, 31st March, 2021.
In an interview, Honourable Okafor noted that, such serious attack that reportedly led to the death of three of his security personnel and abduction of AnaMbra state Commissioner for Public Utilities, Engineer Emeka Ezenwanne should be handled with every sense of seriousness.
“While I express my deepest sympathies to Prof. Chukwuma Soludo and condolences to the family and friends of the slain policemen, I call for a speedy investigation by our security agencies to unravel the perpetrators of this dastardly act”, Hon. Okafor said.
Honourable Okafor who described the incident as regrettable noted that Anambra state until recently, has remained the safest state in Nigeria, however, recent developments in the date requires the need to adopt new strategies to deal with security challenges in the state.
He concluded by calling on Ndi Anambra, stakeholders and all the security agencies to step up and support the efforts of His Excellency, Governor Willie Obiano, to stem insecurity in the state even as he prayed for safety and speedy release of the abducted Commissioner.
